How to Setup and Activate Office on Android Phone

Posted on

Initially launched in 1998, Microsoft Office is now a part of our day to day life, be it office, school or personal work, no one can deny the fact that we rely on Office entirely. The suite was initially started with a couple of applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint but now have grown substantially providing apps and service for every need. Microsoft’s Office is available in different versions among which Office 2013 (desktop version) and Office 365 (cloud-based) are the most used versions of it. The desktop version of Office can be used on PCs running the Windows and macOS operating system whereas Office 365 is compatible with every device.

If you are trying to install Office on your Android device, use the steps below to get it done without any trouble. For activating Office 365 on your device, first, make sure you have a valid subscription of it.

  • First of all, install the Office app from the play store on your Android phone. Note that you will have to install app separately for every tool such as Word, PowerPoint or Excel.
  • After downloading the app from the play store, launch the Word app and then select Allow.
  • Now you need to sign in to your Microsoft Office or Office 365 account. If you are already signed in to another office app installed on your tablet, you would get signed in from the same Microsoft account.
  • Fill in your email address and password in the given field and then tap sign in.
  • Note that you will need to create a Microsoft account first if you don’t have one, to do so select Create an Account tab and then follow on-screen prompts.
  • If your account is associated with Microsoft Office’s desktop version such as Office 2016 or Office 2019, you would be asked to upgrade to Office 365 in order to get access to advanced features. Follow the on-screen instructions to purchase an Office 365 plan or click May Be Later option to skip the step.

Now you can create, access and edit office files from your Android device without any trouble. However, if you face any issue with your Office subscription or app feel free to access our plenty of sources available on www.office.com/setup for Android or you may dial +1800-958-211.
